Patrick Keenan is a long time educational consultant and one of the most experienced STEM coaches, with well over a decade of experience and more than 17,000 hours coaching students in the area’s most rigorous math and science programs. He began tutoring students while he was at UC Berkeley, completing a dual Bachelors in Physics and Applied mathematics. He works with students in a wide range of subjects, especially Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, and standardized test preparation. He has helped many students and families to both navigate their school’s rigorous STEM curriculum, and to develop a deeper personal relationship with and passion for these subjects. He believes that being a successful tutor requires intimate knowledge of the material, such that it can be presented in many different ways, as what makes intuitive sense to one student might not be the best explanation for another. He prides himself on finding new ways to both explain concepts and make them personally relevant and fun in order to motivate his students. He works collaboratively with students to nurture their intuition and confidence so that their reaction is to think critically when presented with problems and thus become more independent problem solvers.
