Holden Saberhagen

Math and Physics Tutor

Holden is a graduate student in Physics at SFSU and a former mathematics teacher at Oakwood School in Morgan Hill, where for two years he taught Calculus (AP AB and BC), AP and non-AP Statistics, Algebra II, and two advanced electives I introduced: Introduction to Proofs and Introduction to Analysis. Before teaching at Oakwood, he obtained his B.A. in Mathematics and Physics from Reed College, where he worked a faculty-nominated peer tutor for physics courses. While group classes and one-to-one teaching each have distinct advantages and challenges, . Tutoring, given the 1:1 format, allows for personalization, and Holden’s extensive experience allows him to meet each student where they are at in their ability, interest, confidence, and goals, across almost every entire conceivable range.

Outside of tutoring, teaching, and learning, he like to go camping, go on runs, and meditate.

Truly, a huge fan of education and mathematics, he loves showing others just how interesting math can be. Math and Physics are often taught as some set of arbitrary rules to memorize. When at its heart, they're about making sense of ideas and seeing how they fit together. Taught right, math and physics are rewarding explorations that will actually click.
